Ok what's happened since last post? Looking back I realize I last posted around Christmas (eeek). The new year was uneventful. I was working a contract position as a Payroll/HR Manager for Met Life stadium. I'm not big on sports but found myself following the Giants (yay they won) and Jets (gasp again! I know! Me-sports? Who would have thunk?)

I then found myself out of work in January since the role morphed into a more finance role instead of a human resources role. I actually am thankful for the opportunity they gave me to work there. I managed to sharpen my skills and learn ADP HRIS/Payroll application and Union management.
I immediately was offered a role as a HR Generalist (contract again) at a company directly across the highway from the stadium. Both were really close to home and a great commute.

Alas I found my new contract role ending after 3 months. The boss needed someone who could travel every month for days on end to the other locations located all over the country and being a single mom made that impossible. While I am very thankful to keep working (even in contract roles), I need to grow roots and find a permanent position. Cross your fingers for me. It's a rough market out there.
Ok I promise, my next blog will be more exciting :) Here's a cute pic of Lina celebrating St. Paddy's day. Her dad's new girlfriend has a side job painting faces and throwing kid parties. I admit that I actually like her. She's an old goth girl who is a single mom herself and is really nice.
